OUAI: yes in a casual, Parisian way

Let me start with the most important question: is a bathroom selfie even complete without OUAI hair products? We can all appreciate beauty products that look amazing on our bathroom counter.

Jen Atkin, the Kardashian’s go-to hairstylist and founder of OUAI launched a line of hair products that smell amazing. As you guys know, I’ve been using Gisou for a really long time now but it was time to try some new hair products. OUAI is seen anywhere on social media and it made me wonder if it’s really worth the hype.

I’ll start with a little background information of my hair in a way you’re able to see if these products are right for your hair type. I have long, fine to medium hair and I normally wash my hair every other day because it tends to get greasy pretty quickly.

About the products

The Medium Hair Shampoo for all hair types nourishes, strengthens and adds shine. The highlighted ingredients are kumquat fruit extract, babassu oil and coconut oil. Its scented with a rose fragrance with notes of Italian lemon, jasmine and white musk. This product is also cruelty-free and gluten-free. In the beginning, I found the smell really strong but I guess after using Gisou I had to get used to it. After a while I noticed that my hair was more hydrated and less frizz.

On top of the shampoo I also use the Medium Hair Conditioner, it leaves my hair shiny and smooth. A little tip: rinse with cold water to close the hair cuticle and add shine.

After reading some good things about the wave spray and the leave in conditioner, I decided to buy them both. The wave spray is a hair mist infused with rice protein to create beachy waves and enhance texture. After trying it for a couple of times I didn’t see much difference so for me it didn’t really work. Comparing to the leave in conditioner, it left me speechless. This leave-in conditioner detangles hair and protects against heat and damage to reduce frizz. It’s scented with a floral fragrance with notes of bergamot, violet and white musk. You’ll have the urge to smell your hair all the time. Maybe it’s just me but my hair has never been so soft and silky as after using this product, it already looked healthier after a few times.

Last but not least, my favorite OUAI product: scalp & body scrub. This deep cleansing sugar scrub smooths out dry skin while nourishing it. The scalp and body scrub is scented with a rose fragrance with hints of bergamot, lychee, cedarwood and white musk. I mostly use it for my body, just apply it to damp skin and rub in circular movements to gently exfoliate. If you use it for your scalp, first apply the scrub and rinse and follow with your favorite conditioner.
