Is Gisou overrated?

I hesitated a long time to buy Gisou products since I think they’re pricey. After an allergic reaction to my skin, I decided to buy the products. I can tell you, it was totally worth it for most of the products! I’ve become an addict since I first tried them. Personally, I don’t think every product is worth the hype. I’ve been using Gisou for about a year now which allows me to share my honest opinion with you guys.

Products

All Gisou products are bee-based, which means the products are basically vegan and therefore contain a lot of vitamins and minerals. All products are silicone, sultate and cruelty free, which is an important aspect to me.

Let's move on to my honest opinion about each of the products. In general, I think most of them are great while others didn’t convince me much. I think this depends on your hair type and what you want to achieve with it.

Let's start with the super shower trio

The smell of the honey infused hair wash is amazing, but I'm not very satisfied with the shampoo itself. On the bottle it says you need 2-3 pumps, while I need 4-6 (I have thin hair that gets greasy pretty fast). With 5 pumps I have the feeling that the shampoo finally starts to foam and it starts to feel less dry. I didn't see any difference while using this shampoo.

I used the honey infused hair wash in combination with the honey infused hair conditioner and the conditioner is fantastic! Not only the smell, but when I use this product, my hair feels really soft. After I've washed my hair, it glows and the product moisturizes your hair very well. Normally my hair is difficult to comb but this product has changed that.

The honey infused hair mask is my favourite product. I use the hair mask once a week and it ensures a deep treatment. The texture of the hair mask is thick and I noticed a difference within a week. My hair feels soft and deeply hydrated after using the hair mask, it's a must have product!

The propolis infused polishing primer is very good to reduce frizz and it also helps to keep my hair in place when styled with tools. I don’t straighten or curl my hair a lot but whenever I do, I always use this product. Don't use too much of this product when you apply it, otherwise it makes your hair greasy (this only applies if you have the same hair type as me).

If you need to dry your hair quickly, the propolis infused heating spray is the ultimate product! I noticed it makes blow-dry easier and faster. It's also ideal to use in the summer when your spend a lot of time in the sun and of course before using styling tools. The smell isn’t what I expected, it doesn’t smell very good compared to the other products. I discovered that after blow-drying and using styling tools the smell disappears a little.

I only use the honey infused hair oil on the ends of my hair because I don't want my hair to get greasy easily. I would definitely recommend this hair oil in combination with the hair mask!

I love the honey infused hair perfume because of its delicious, sweet smell. When I'm in a hurry or need to go to a party, I always bring this product with me so my hair smells fresh again. Every time I use this, I get a lot of compliments and that's where we live for, right?!

This was my opinion about the Gisou products, but I'll tell you what the must-haves are for each hair type:

Don't get me wrong, the other products are also good, but their effectiveness is better on other hair types.
